Firstly, I must apologise for the lack of videos this year - they take a heck of a lot of time to research, film and put together, and this year time has been at something of a premium. That said, I'm hoping to drop as many articles as I can over the next few days that cover most of the content that I'd normally cover in the videos.

I thought I'd let you know about one of the key changes that has been requested many times, and I hope will allow everyone to enjoy the game a lot more through the course of the season. In many respects, it's only a small change, but the consequences will hopefully be huge, and of great benefit to everyone!

The change is born out of the fact that once the gameweek has kicked off, your team is left on display for all to see. When we had a blanket lock on players at the outset of the gameweek, this wasn't a problem, everyone suffered the ups and downs of the round. The introduction of rolling gameweeks changed this dynamic however. Given that you could now change any players in your team/squad who hadn't yet played, you could see who others had chosen in their team and update accordingly. When competing in the cup competition, you could nullify certain threats that your opponent might proffer by matching their players, and indeed as the season progresses towards its culmination, you could see who the league leaders were choosing.

I'm pleased to announce that this is now obsolete.

I've rewritten the team page on both the website and the app so that only those players who are locked into your team are visible to others. You can of course still see your own team, but the ability to preempt changes for cup rounds or the end of the season is now gone.

All being well, it will open the game up slightly and increase the impact of player skill on the outcome of the season.

Please shout as ever if you have any questions or queries on the game, via social media or email. We've also set up a Discord server this season to bring together like minded fantasy players, and there are plenty of people waiting to help answer your questions and help you refine your squad:
