If you like rugby, and seeing as though you are currently on a website called www.therugbymagazine.com I assume you do, you must try your hardest to watch the Leinster against Glasgow that was played last Friday.

There were plenty of other options on show with Northampton vs Wasps and some sort of kickball game that England were playing, so I understand if you missed it. Lucky for you it was it was broadcast on the BBC and available now on iPlayer. Trust me, it is worth watching.

Glasgow, combing strong defense with exciting attack, dominated the first half. Despite the fact that first choice 10 Finn Russell was injured pregame, they exhibited attacking play that any of Europe’s top clubs would struggle to deal with. Individual performances from Glasgow’s half-back pairing, Niko Matawalu and Peter Horne as well as converted centre Richie Vernon, were particularly impressive.

Brilliant shot of @theTOKpirate going over to score @leinsterrugby's fourth try! #LEINvGLA pic.twitter.com/19tlOJGb5s

Leinster had barely been able to cope with Glasgow’s intensity in the first half, but scored a try after a charge down in the first minute of the second half. Indeed, the first 30 minutes of the second half where all Leinster, scoring 24 unanswered points. Glasgow were not helped by a needless yellow card from Matawalu but managed to rally, eventually scoring a fine try in the corner to the level the game with 8 minutes remaining. The remainder of the game was frantic, with both teams trying their best to win. The match eventually finished 34-34, perhaps a just finish considering the effort out in by both teams.

What a great game of rugby tonight Leinster 34 v Glasgow 34. Was a privilege to referee. Credit to all the players. Great advert for Pro12
