Schalk Burger joined some prestigious sporting company at the Laureus Awards last week, where he was presented with the Comeback of the Year Award. The story of his comeback is quite remarkable if you have not heard what occurred in his life; I am sure that many were scratching their heads when he was away from the game, but, in his own words, he was 'on my way out.'

Here is a moving tribute to the tumultuous period in his life - I am sure I'm not the only one who believes that Rugby is a better place for having this man-mountain back in Western Province and Springbok colours - even if he did win Man of the Match against England at Twickenham in November...
