In the build up to the new Premiership Rugby season, The Scout is on hand to help you build a solid squad for the season by selecting a handful of premium and bargain players for each position.
In this article, we are going to take a look at premium flankers.
Bath - £329k
Francois Louw comes with an added extra this year: he is available from the start of the season. On top of this, with Sam Underhill looking likely to be part of Eddie Jones’ England squad for the autumn internationals, Louw becomes a stand out choice for your number 7 shirt.
While Louw only played ten games last year, his stats were some of the better for his position, and with more game time, fantasy coaches can hope to get some great performances out of the South African this year.
Francois Louw is currently selected by 10% of fantasy coaches.
Saracens - £352k
While he is perhaps heading into his twilight playing years, Schalk Burger continues to deliver solid fantasy performances, and the same can be expected this year.
With Saracens opening fixtures against sides they would certainly expect to beat, Burger is a great option for racking up some early points, and his worth continues through the international periods when his teammates head off for duty.
6% of fantasy coaches have chosen Burger for their squads.
Harlequins - £292k
The former England captain had an impressive fantasy campaign last term, and the Harlequins faithful will be hoping he can continue in the same vein this time round.
The key area of his game, and certainly that which will deliver the most value for the fantasy coach, is his defence; a 94% tackle success rate, and over 10 tackles per game ensures a ticking fantasy score.
Perhaps something to consider however are Harlequins fixtures. By the time the big games come around, those in which Robshaw could show his talking skills, he will undoubtably be in the England squad. Will he be enough of an attacking threat in their opening fixtures to warrant a place in your side?
Chris Robshaw is currently selected by 12% of fantasy coaches.
