After the decimation wrought by gameweek 7 on fantasy squads, this round is seemingly a lot more pleasant; that is until 19.45 swings round and Bath face the bitter cold of the North. Our projection algorithm has that one down as a Bath win, but Newcastle's position belies their performances to date and it's likely to be one of the match-ups of the weekend.

One to watch

Northampton travel to the AJ Bell Stadium to face off against Sale in a fixture that could have some very positive results on their season. Given their performance in last week's match against Wasps, it would be hard to suggest they won't get something out of this game, and their enigmatic prop Alex Waller will certainly be at the forefront of the fight. While last week saw him collect 21 points, some of his better games have come against the men in blue, and you can expect him to score well tomorrow.

Team to watch

Gloucester sit on top of the projected points earnings for this week, despite our algorithm giving them a tight loss away at Sandy Park. Top players to look out for in this fixture are Don Armand and Willi Heinz.

Top captain pick

Don Armand is some way ahead of the chasing pack for your captain picks to date, but he is closely followed by Faf de Klerk, Danny Cipriani and Alex Goode, all of whom are expected to shine this weekend. If you want a good outside pick, go with Willi Heinz, or Alex Waller.

Top value pick

Wasps welcome Bristol to the Ricoh this weekend, and chief amongst them is lock Will Rowlands who is expected to grind out a strong fantasy performance. Other players under £200k expected to go well are Jamie Shillcock and Kyle Cooper.

Food for though

We're getting closer and closer to the head-to-head cup competition kicking off, so if you feel like you have dropped a little from the main pack, now is a great opportunity to get your squad settled before the cup kicks off. Make some transfers and get in shape!

As ever, good luck to everyone, and let us know on Twitter or Facebook how you get on!
